Rogue Symmetry
By Derrick G. Wood
I started coming up with little toon ideas around 2000, but didn't start trying to actually draw them until 2011. From 2012 to 2014 I drew a new comic seven days a week for an excellent website called Go Comics/Sherpa. Then, I started directing my art energy towards other things but still occasionally draw a comic. Here are some of my favorites:

Got Milk - UFO Parody
I don't know about you, but I can't imagine a chocolate chip cooking without milk. Neither can these smart aliens!

Where the Crawdads...
Where the Crawdads Sing.... beatbox? I admit that I haven't read the book nor seen the movie, but that couldn't stop me from making fun of the title.

C-3PO Wanna Be Successor
The Failure that was C-4PO. This joke involves Star Wars, Robotics, and Explosives. What else can you ask for?

Embryo Prison Cell
This little baby has been doing hard time for almost nine months now. Almost ready to be released.

Chinese Spelling Bee
This Chinese Spelling Bee comic is one of my all-time favorites. I first drew up the idea around 2001 (This is a redrawn one from many years later) and still don't know how a really Chinese Spelling Bee would work!l

The Sperm Whale
Well, this could certainly be an eventful birth!

Gary Larson Disease
Over the years, and after reading the entire Far Side collection over and over and over, I've realized a lot of my comics were actually already done by Gary Larson decades before I 'thought' of them.

The Dork Family
This is a redrawn version of a toon I came up with during my first year of cartooning online. It was a crowd favorite and still makes me laugh. The little ultrasound there is my son.

Snowflake Twins
No two snowflakes are alike... oh, wait, scratch that.
The little ultrasound there is my daughter. She is definitely not a snowflake though.
The little ultrasound there is my daughter. She is definitely not a snowflake though.

Arizona Summer Hell
Arizona, where I have called home since 2005, was an odd location for me to move to since I legendarily HATE the heat. Expect me to complain from March to November about how it's too warm. As a bonus, expect me to complain from December to February about how it's too hot for the season.

The Smart Missile
This missile is too smart for its own good. Back to the dumb ones who just kill without concern for the innocent people.

How to Install a Shelf
Anyone who knows me knows I dislike woodworking, so this isn't too far off from how it would go if I put up a shelf.

The Other 12 O'clock
This one has cracked me up since I drew it. To think that this vampire, LaGoth, doesn't realize the group wanted to meet at midnight so he comes out at noon. Ha ha. Yeah, I wrote, ''ha ha'' to my comic.

Bird's Eye!
This is a redrawn comic. I still stink at drawing birds, but the stadium here is much improved from the original version of this from a few years earlier.

Being Forty Is...
This was the first of three 'Being 40 Is...' toons that I drew when I turned, you guessed it, forty.

Dilbert Tie
I never understood Dilbert when it was being run in the papers. I'd read Garfield, The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, but just kind of stare at Dilbert, dumbfounded. When I got older and started working, it all made sense. Zippy the Pinhead on the other hand....

Baby Want Some Milk?
I have gone back and forth with this cartoon because there is a version where there is a bottle instead of breasts. But, this is the one that I find the funniest, so this is the one I'll post. Babies breastfeed, deal with it.

Dinner At the Ranch
Well, you didn't think they were going to eat the pine trees, did you?

Short Arm T-Rex Comic
This little Tyrannosaur traveled quite a lot of places back when I released him onto George Takei's Facebook page in 2014. I had a lot of fun seeing him go ''Viral'' and I hope he continues making people laugh. And no, he can't use his head and, yes, I now know Rexxies only have two fingers. Sorry!

The Anti-Graffiti Wall
In the world of art, there are few things I dislike more than people 'tagging' onto someone else's property. This was one of the first, if not THE first, toon that I sold to the now defunct Future Cities website.

Free Bird!!!!
This little bird has good reason to hate Lynyrd Skynyrd. Even this Simple Man has to agree with the feathered one.

Star Wars Parents
Parents have a lot of hard decisions to make. Information out there isn't usually helpful since both sides of each issue offer such seemingly well researched and medically backed studies. But the hardest one, for me, was this right here. Episode One... should I tell them?

The Transmogrifier
Before trans meant what it means for now, there was the almighty Transmogrifier. I grew up reading Calvin and Hobbes and loved the idea. So much in fact that I had to do a little tribute that reflected my then desire to be a cartoonist on a professional level.

Hypochondria? I have that!
There aren't enough Hypochondria comics. I'm sure I could write a whole book of them. But first, I have to go to this doctor because I think I have this new disease I've been reading about....

Blah Blah Blah
Some of my comics are more truth than fiction. This being one of them.
